It doesn't open from any source (task bar, desktop icon, or even from open downloads folder from browser). By clicking on the icon, the screen blinks then nothing happens. I tried restarting the laptop, retarting windows explorer from the task manager, and also tried the youtube tutorial which states to access the registry editor.
The file explorer no longer opens; I can't open any folders on my Dell G15 5511 laptop. Since the last update, I've been unable to access files on my laptop for two days because the file explorer won't open.
Hi there, sorry to bother! I've installed Windows 11 via the Installation Assistant (my computer supports both TPM and Secure Boot, so no issue there) but now I have an empty taskbar, no working file explorer, and no start menu. I can't even access settings to roll back since it won't load!
I have file explorer shortcut on my taskbar and when I click it it doesn't open. It works if I search for File Explorer through the Start menu but when opened it lands on "Quick Access" with a loading bar and says "Working on it..".
Attempting to open files from anywhere other than the software itself results in spinning wheels and no open files. File>Open within the software works every time, but double-clicking a pdf in file explorer or an attachment in Outlook does nothing.
I ran Windows Update last night, now I can't open File Explorer or any folder on my computer. Clicking on the File Explorer icon in my Taskbar, indicates that it is open, but the folder (or any folder) won't actually open.
Open task manager and search Windows Explorer then restart on Right-Click. I have a similar issue with Microsoft Edge pinned on Taskbar. I guess it's a taskbar bug.
Windows 11 file explorer constantly fails to open. Windows 11 I am at my wits end. It crashes and won't open. I've reinstalled, updated, repaired, followed MS troubleshooting till I'm blue in the face. Running on a lenovo legion 5. Microsoft aren't any help.
