The company's top human resources executive said Tuesday that the tech giant needs to be "organized more leanly" due to the "transformative" nature of AI.

The company said it's cutting roles in order to help make the company leaner and less bureaucratic, while it looks to invest in generative AI.

The company is looking to cut costs starting this week as it continues to spend aggressively on artificial intelligence. Another round of cuts is expected in January.
