The Hoosiers are one of five Big Ten teams ranked inside the AP's updated top 20, anchored by top-ranked Ohio State. The SEC leads all conferences with nine teams in the latest AP Top 25.
Of six losses among the top 25 teams, the ACC was the only conference to have two ranked teams lose to unranked opponents.

No. 1 Houston leapfrogs Purdue in AP Top 25 despite fewer first-place votes; Arizona up to No. 5
Houston was No. 1 in the poll released Monday, swapping spots with Purdue by earning three more points overall. The Cougars received 18 first-place votes from a 61-person media panel and Purdue had 36, with four other teams also getting at least one.
One of the risers into the top five was Duke. The Blue Devils jumped two spots to No. 4 after a win over Texas in the first game of the Cameron Boozer era. UConn moved up one spot to No. 3 after blowout wins over New Haven and UMass Lowell to open the season.
Along with Iowa, the Big Ten has nine other programs listed in and outside of the Top 25, which includes No. 3 UCLA (2-0), No. 8 USC (2-0), No. 9 Maryland (3-0), No. 13 Michigan (2-0), No. 24 Michigan State (2-0), No. 25 Washington (1-0), along with Ohio State (27 points), Minnesota (10 points), and Nebraska (2 points) receiving votes.
The early part of the basketball season has become dotted with marquee matchups as teams try to test themselves and build resumes for March. The second week of the 2025-26 season will feature two rivalry games among the seven games between AP Top 25 teams.
Washington partook in one of the biggest upsets of the week. The then-23rd-ranked Huskies couldn't handle Wisconsin's defense as the Badgers, losers of six straight, upset Washington, 13-10, fresh of its first Top 25 ranking of the season.
