One person is dead after a Saturday evening avalanche in northern Colorado’s Rocky Mountains near Berthoud Pass in Grand County, sheriff’s officials said.

Four people were buried Saturday, including one who died, in two avalanches in Grand County Saturday afternoon, according to the Colorado Avalanche Information Center.
