A Navy veteran received her first Veterans Day recognition in the form of major home repairs as around 100 volunteers worked on her Atlanta, Texas home Monday (Nov. 11).

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — On Veterans Day, volunteers from the Home Depot Foundation, Toys for Tots, and HouseProud Atlanta assembled hundreds of gifts for military families in the metro Atlanta area at a construction site in Cobb County.

ATLANTA, Texas - Dozens of volunteers spent the day remodeling the home of an east Texas veteran. The upgrades are thanks in part to a $17,000 grant from the Home Depot foundation. More than 70 volunteers pitched in to help with the Veteran Home Remodel Project.

Volunteers from Home Depot locations across the region gathered at the Tupelo Salvation Army campus to make major improvements to the building’s veterans dormitory as part of the company’s annual foundation grant.

The Home Depot Foundation has invested more than $30 million in new grants to help thousands of veterans secure and maintain safe, accessible housing through critical home repairs, smart home modifications and programs for those exiting homelessness.
