Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker slammed the federal government’s move to shut down SNAP EBT systems, effectively blocking access to all food benefits for nearly 1.9 million people starting November 1. Pritzker is directing $20 million to statewide food banks to help fill the gap the administration is leaving.
