Macklin Celebrini had his second career hat trick and set up Will Smith's goal in overtime as part of a five-point game.

After a surprising overtime loss to the San Jose Sharks, New York Rangers head coach Mike Sullivan addressed his team’s early-season approach and playing style.

On the winning goal, Celebrini stole the puck from defensemen Braden Schneider in the corner to the left of the Rangers’ net, took a stride, and fed Smith with a cross-ice pass for a one-timer that beat goalie Igor Shesterkin. Smith finished with two goals and two assists as his four points matched a career-high.

The 32-year-old hasn't been immune from the Rangers' inconsistent offense this season -- he has a total of five points with 33 shots on net, 11 hits, six blocked shots and a minus-4 rating over nine appearances.
