Tropical Storm Fernand continues to track northeast away from land into the North Atlantic Wednesday. The storm has briefly intensified on Wednesday afternoon with sustained winds at about 50 mph, but the storm is forecast to lose its tropical characteristics while rolling east -northeast over the Atlantic Ocean with Fernand storm remnants expected to impact the United Kingdom this weekend.

Tropical Storm Fernand is continuing to weaken in the Atlantic, and forecasters with the National Hurricane Center (NHC) predict the storm is likely to become a post-tropical cyclone Tuesday night or early Wednesday before then dissipating on Thursday.
