After an unprecedented snowless November and December temperatures in the 60s, Buffalo got hammered Thursday by one of its heaviest snowfalls ever.

Typically, when Buffalo picks up a large snow accumulation, it comes as a result of more localized lake-effect snow events. But everyone got some snow Tuesday.

Snowfall totals in parts of Buffalo have reached 70 inches and counting, according to ABC affiliate WKBW. Click here to see photos and videos that storm's intensity.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Erie County is adding new tools to its winter weather toolbox. Two new road-sized snow blowers will help clear roads faster and they say make the county more self-sufficient.

The Snow Symposium is returning to Buffalo and is being held at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center teaching people from across the country how to deal with snow removal.
