A budget friendly airline said Tuesday it's adding a half-dozen new routes at Detroit Metro Airport. Tickets for Frontier Airlines' new flights will be available for purchase starting Sept. 2 as part of plans to add 20 new routes nationally and internationally.

Frontier Airlines is adding 20 routes later this year, including two in Charlotte. Other cities impacted include Detroit, Houston, and Baltimore. The airline said it wants to become "the number one low-fare carrier in the top 20 U.
