Nearly 70 years ago, the West Point Pepperell Mill Company rented a merry-go-round for Valley, Alabama, during the holidays. When the mill closed in the early 2000s, the city kept things spinning.

The Tennessee-based development group that recently acquired RiverTown Crossings says it has invested more than $1.3 million into improving the mall.
