The National Hurricane Center continued to track Tropical Storm Fernand in the central Atlantic on Monday, but the Gulf remained very quiet as the peak of the Atlantic hurricane season approaches. There were no storms expected to develop in the Gulf in at least the next seven days, according to hurricane center forecasts.
Juliette is the 10th tropical storm of the Eastern Pacific season, the National Hurricane Center said on Monday.

Although the tropical storm may gain some strength on Monday, it is expected to begin to weaken Monday night and Tuesday.
The former Hurricane Erin headed out to sea and became a non-tropical system on Friday, but the National Hurricane Center continued to track two other systems on Saturday in the Atlantic. One of them could become Tropical Storm Fernand soon. As of Saturday morning that system was located about 500 miles south-southeast of Bermuda.
Hurricane Erin is entering the first stages of a post-tropical transition as it continues to move away from the eastern coast of the United States.
