SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Kids in the Early Explorer Preschool in Santa Barbara are experiencing education in a way like no other. Their school happens to be inside the Santa Barbara zoo.

The preschool program includes animal encounters, sustainability and garden education, arts and crafts, as well as rides on the famous Zoo Train.

Animal encounters, sustainability and garden education, art, and zoo train rides are incorporated into the childcare program.

The zoo will hire a preschool director to craft a curriculum and navigate state licensing requirements for the preschool, which will serve 16-20 students starting in fall 2020.
