According to NFL.com’s Marc Ross, rather unsurprisingly, Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson isn’t projected to receive a 2027 5th-year team option by his current club, being eligible as a member of the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft class: Pick 4.

When the Indianapolis Colts chose to use the fourth overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft on Anthony Richardson, they had high hopes for him to become the franchise quarterback they had long searched for.

As The Athletic's James Boyd said, this was a non-answer. But in a way, however, this may tell us the actual answer to the question, which is that Richardson doesn't have much of a future with the Colts. Once the Colts named Daniel Jones the starter over the summer, Richardson's path to reearning that role was never clear.
