LSU men's basketball made a national statement with its 11-point victory over Kansas State. Among the numerous awesome offensive showings, its defense was the true star of the contest.

LSU beat K-State in nearly every statistical category, but a few stood out. The Tigers grabbed 43 rebounds and limited the Wildcats to 25. LSU also got 32 points from its bench while K-State only got 15. That was too much for the home team to overcome. K-State dropped to 2-1 with the loss and LSU improved to 3-0 with the win.

The only consolation Kansas State basketball coach Jerome Tang took from Thursday's loss to LSU was the fact that it's still early in the season.
