The DFL Senator was found guilty on two counts of burglary after a days-long trial in Detroit Lakes. The burglary occurred on April 22, 2024 when officers found Mitchell in the basement of her step-mother’s house in the early morning hours.
She is accused of breaking into her late father’s home to retrieve mementos. The defense claims she was checking on her stepmother.
