Volodymyr Zelensky said Sunday -- the eve of the third anniversary of Russia's invasion -- that he was ready to quit as Ukraine's president if it meant Kyiv would be admitted to the NATO military alliance.

It was not clear if the Ukrainian leader was serious or if he was just reacting to attacks against him from Washington and Moscow. He also pushed back against a minerals deal proposed by the United States.

Responding to a journalist's question on whether he’d trade his office for peace, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said, 'I can trade it for NATO.'
