Winter storm brings mix of snow and rain to parts of NY, NJ

A messy winter storm swept across New York and New Jersey Tuesday, bringing a mix of heavy rain and wet snow.

Update: The current winter weather advisory for New York will expire at 7 a.m.

The National Weather Service issued an updated winter weather advisory at 8:21 p.m. on Wednesday valid from Friday 1 a.m. until Saturday 7 a.m. for Cayuga, Cortland, Chenango and Otsego counties.
