The first of the 40 victims killed in the New Year’s Eve fire, which was caused by champagne bottle sparklers, has been identified as a 17-year-old traveller.

The deadly blaze erupted around 1:30 a.m. at the bar “Le Constellation” in the ritzy ski resort town of Crans-Montana in the Valais Canton.
