The Houston Texans bid farewell to a fan favorite at wide receiver on Sunday when they traded John Metchie III to the Philadelphia Eagles. Houston now hopes a positional change will benefit their offense in 2025.

According to multiple reports, the Texans are sending Metchie to the defending Super Bowl champions in exchange for tight end Harrison Bryant and a 2026 fifth-round pick. The Eagles will also receive a 2026 sixth-round pick, which initially was sent over to Houston in the C.J. Gardner-Johnson deal earlier this offseason.
