Lando Norris pinged by Max Verstappen as untelevised United States GP team radio emerges
Untelevised team radio footage from the United States Grand Prix has uncovered the moment Max Verstappen pinged Lando Norris for a track limits breach. Verstappen claimed his third victory in the last four races at the Circuit of The Americas in Austin, Texas, last Sunday to breathe new life into the F1 2025 title race.
Verstappen’s strong weekend, where he took the maximum 33 points available by winning both the F1 Sprint race as well as the United States Grand Prix less than two hours ago, pulled him within 40 points of championship leader Oscar Piastri and just 26 points of Norris in second place.
Lando Norris was content with second in Sunday's United States Grand Prix as the gap between himself and Oscar Piastri is cut to 14.
There is speculation that McLaren granted Oscar Piastri priority in qualifying as Lando Norris' "repercussion" for breaking the team's rule.
The US GP was reminiscent of 2024, where Norris had a significant edge over Piastri pace-wise. The F1 championship leader finished a disappointing fifth, fending off Mercedes’ George Russell in the closing laps.
