The foreign ministers of India and China have met in New Delhi in a renewed effort by the nuclear-armed Asian rivals to ease tensions after a five-year border standoff.

NEW DELHI (Reuters) -Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar began talks with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi in New Delhi on Monday and stressed that there could be positive momentum in ties between the neighbours only if there was peace on their border.

As both countries face tough diplomatic conditions with the US, India’s Subrahmanyam Jaishankar says ‘differences must not become disputes’.
