Eddie Howe admits Newcastle striker Alexander Isak has control of his future with the club as Liverpool remain interested in signing the Sweden forward.Isak's stance had angered Newcastle fans and Howe hopes the striker realises how important the club has been in his development.

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe believes Alexander Isak would not be at the level he is today without the club’s support as he confirmed there has been “no change” over the transfer standoff. The wantaway Swede is said to have no desire to reintegrate into the team as he continues to force a move to Liverpool.

Waugh: Howe was afforded an extension under Dan Ashworth during the summer of 2022 and, in secret, he was given another deal the following off-season. That was only revealed in July last year by Eales when he was asked directly by The Athletic during a video call with reporters.
