Transcript: Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey on "Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan," Nov. 2, 2025
The following is the transcript of the interview with Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey, a Democrat, that aired on "Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan" on Nov. 2, 2025.
"When they release the funds, the state will quickly work to load the cards that people have," Gov Maura Healey said Monday.
LaMar Cook was charged with cocaine trafficking after investigators intercepted packages of the drug bound for a Massachusetts state office where he worked.
LaMar Cook, 45, was arrested Tuesday night — a day after investigators searched his office — and charged with cocaine trafficking.
The governor is releasing $4 million from another state account to double the state’s November payment to food banks. But she said tapping the rainy day fund would open the floodgates to other requests during the federal government shutdown.
The move to a dignified space above the mantel in the office was to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution. A symbolic empty gold frame will be moved to the reception room.

Fired Healey deputy faces drug trafficking charges
LaMar Cook, 45, of Springfield, has been fired from his state job effective immediately, the governor's office said.
Governor Maura Healey will speak at the State House at 10:45 a.m. Thursday to address President Trump’s unprecedented decision to end SNAP benefits and outline ways residents can support their neighbors.
The Healey administration is falling apart, or so it seems, and it will take more than attacking President Donald Trump to turn things around.
