The Cass County Community Corrections Facility reported 49-year-old Scott Pearson of Logansport had fled Community Corrections.
Police say 61-year-old David Scott Elliott was found unresponsive in his bunk at the Washington County Jail.
Two adults, two children and a dog were already outside when firefighters arrived on scene, but the adults told firefighters there was a child still trapped inside.
