Over the last decade, an array of local and state agencies have missed opportunities to fund a flood warning system intended to avert the type of disaster that swept away dozens of youth campers and others in Kerr County,

The storms that battered the Hill Country for the last four days began to lighten up, although isolated pockets of heavy rain were still possible.

On Wednesday at 8:32 p.m. the National Weather Service released an updated flash flood warning in effect until Thursday at 12:30 a.m. for Burlington, Camden, Gloucester and Salem counties.

A flash flood warning was issued by the National Weather Service on Wednesday at 7:18 p.m. in effect until 11:15 p.m. for Delaware County.

Numerous storms this evening, especially through 9 or 10 p.m. The National Weather Service is warning of potential for “locally significant” flooding and damaging winds. A flood watch and severe thunderstorm watch are in effect.
