READ!➡️= Imperial Germany was notorious for u-boat (submarine) warfare in WW1, therefore the Treaty of Versailles SPECIFICALLY highlighted that Germany shall surrender all existing u-boats and shall never have them built again. Despite this, Germany built them again in the late 1930s, and thus the history of the WW2 U-boat crew commenced - 40,000 crews were sent out; 30,000 never came back home.
